Enjoy the stunning mountain views during your golf round - 9 or 18 holes. A stone's throw away from Lake Hāwea and 10mins from Wānaka.
Lake Hāwea Golf course is a 9-hole family-friendly course, enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. The course is set near the shores of Lake Hāwea, nestled at the foot of the mountains. Feel free to drop in and have a go - we have clubs you can hire, and you can play a few holes or the whole 18.
Green fees:
$20 for 9 holes
$30 for 18 holes
There are no specific tee-off times so just show up! Clubs and carts available for hire (pre-bookings advised via phone).
Day visitors and non-members are welcome, with clubs and carts available to hire on site. Our aim is for everyone to enjoy the scenic views and this fantastic facility.
Drop in for a casual hit or call to make a group booking. Our club day is Sunday and we tee off at 12pm so aim to arrive well before this time or after 2pm. All welcome.
Opening hours vary throughout the year. Usually from dawn till dusk.

Family Fun
Families love Lake Hāwea Golf because it's so relaxed and kids are welcome. That's why we have clubs to rent for those who are dropping in from out of town or simply having a go for the first time.
Ladies' Comps
Ladies' golf is taking off, with new competitions popping up like our most recent Central Otago Women's Interclub. Check out latest scores at the top of this page or on our facebook page.
Next generation
Our younger crowd just love to get out there and have a hit around at Lake Hāwea Golf. There's always someone on hand for help with tips and tricks and we have kids' clubs they can use.
Stay on top of your game
Being a relaxed course means that you can practice a few holes, without the inconvenience of booking in a tee time. Come practice your drive, chipping or putting to keep on top of your game.
And sometimes that might just lead to getting a hole-in-one!

What are the green fees?
How can I become a member?
Just ask Tim or Chris on site and they'll talk you through what's needed. It's pretty straight forward.
Do I need to book a round ahead?
Most days your can just turn up and have a hit but it pays to give us a call just in case there's a special event on.
I don't have my own clubs, can I still play?
Yes, we have clubs, balls, bags and carts that can be hired, including kids' and ladies' clubs.
Do I need proper golf shoes and attire?
Absolutely not! This is a relaxed and family-friendly course. As long as your remain respectful (no nudity), you are welcome to wear what you like.
